It’s honestly a fascinating watch. He’s pretty great and works really fast.It makes me want to replace a head gasket... almost.

I watched a video by this guy where he replaced an R56 Mini water pump in an 18 minute video. It took me 7 hours (and several re-watches of the video). SO many wires to remove before the water pump is accessible.

You could always buy a Fiat, then you’d have to.

I got talking to a Fiat mechanic the other day and he was saying the head gaskets on Fiats have a very small hole in one section so when you tighten the head and pressure is applied onto the gasket it tears open and then it’s only a matter of time till the head gasket needs replacing. He said he had 6 gaskets to change and an engine to swap out that day.

I’d like to think he was exaggerating but I recall another Alfa Romeo/Fiat mechanic saying something similar about the Alfa Romeo Mito when it came out.

Tbh, once you’ve done it a few times and know what to look for/any tricks, a head gasket is quick work, relatively... Then again, for some reason i’ve done a way too many Escort Zetec head gaskets...

Wow, what a great advertisement for NOT buying a Mini anything.
